We are so sure of the cars we offer, that we cover your engine for as long as you own your vehicle. Just abide by the following common-sense requirements — like changing your oil and performing timely maintenance — and you’re good to go. Like forever.

Program Guidelines

For the first 300,000 miles or ten years, whichever comes first, you receive the benefits of Shell’s engine warranty. Our warranty begins after the limits noted above through the lifetime of the vehicle.

  • Change your vehicle’s oil and oil filter at least as often as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

    We recommend you change your oil, in any event, every 4 months or 4,000 miles whichever comes first. Upload at least 1 oil change record to Shell annually (during the Shell Engine Warranty period). You can enroll and upload your oil change records on the Shell website.   • We recommend that you bring your vehicle to our specialists once a year (for FREE, of course).

    Our elite service team will check belts, hoses, and fluid levels.

  • We may repair or replace parts.

    We repair or replace parts under warranty with new, re-manufactured or used parts.

  • Follow the manufacturer maintenance schedule.

    Oil, oil filters, and air cleaner elements must be replaced and the emission control system maintained according to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.

  • Select Cars do not qualify.

    Vehicles must be registered in the original purchase name at time of claim.

  • Damage caused by neglect is not covered.

  • We are not responsible for damages.

    We're not responsible for incidental or consequential damages.

DISCLAIMER: Our guarantee covers internally lubricated engine parts only: piston and rings, cam shafter and bearings, valve lifters, oil pump, push rods, crankshaft and bearings, wrist pins and bushings, distributor drive gear, rocker arms and pivots, cylinder liners or bores, Intake valves and guides, rods and rod bearings, timing gears or sprockets and timing chain.
